A 22-year-old Crystal Lake man is facing an attempted murder charge after shooting a man who attempted to buy marijuana from him, the Kane County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a Huntley-area hospital at around 6 p.m. on Monday for a 22-year-old male subject that was being treated for a gunshot wound, according to a release from the sheriff's department. Detectives from Kane County and Huntley discovered that the victim and another subject went to a residence on Powers Road in unincorporated Rutland Township to buy less than $200 of marijuana from the suspect, later identified as Kyle Campbell. When the parties met, Campbell allegedly took the cash and told the buyers to leave without providing the marijuana. Campbell and the victim then got into a physical struggle, which ended when Campbell allegedly shot the victim twice in the lower extremities, according to the release.
