Bok Academy students' code good enough for NASA

Bok Academy students will get to test computer programming code they created on experimental satellites aboard the International Space Station. Thirteen students in the Zero Robotics summer program created the code that won first place in state competition, which included five other groups from West Palm Beach, Palm Bay and Delray Beach.

They weren't with the shine and shimmer of big-city clubs like New York City's Studio 54, Boston's Lucifer's or Chicago's Bananas, but tucked in the crannies and crevices of downtown, the disco vibe could be found driving dancers to the dance floors of Lakeland in the mid- to late 1970s. And for those old enough to frequent the clubs of the era, if Lakeland didn't offer a place to hustle and bump, it was only an hour drive to the west or north where the larger dance clubs of Tampa and Orlando were open to keep the vibe alive until the wee hours of the morning.
