In response to critiques from City Commissioners on a lack of communication, City Manager Deric Feacher has proposed a plan. Feacher’s plan was emailed to the commissioners late Wednesday afternoon as a way to fix an issue expressed by three of the five commissioners — William Twyford, Pete Chichetto and Steven Hunnicutt — during a commission meeting last month. Chichetto and Hunnicutt could not be reached while Twyford declined to comment.

Wednesday evenings are special at The First Tee of Lakeland. That's when the Adaptive Golf Program meets at the YMCA Par 3 facility from 6 to 7 p.m., a time set aside for a group of 26 golfers with developmental disabilities to gather to play the game and socialize. Mostly young adults, they have progressed to the point of competing in, and winning, Special Olympics golf competitions at the county, area and state level.
