Pontiac toddler in critical condition after neighbor runs her over

An 18-month-old girl from Pontiac is hospitalized in critical condition after her neighbor accidentally ran her over Wednesday morning.The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident which occurred at around 8:46 a.m. in the 100 block of Warwick. It's believed the child was outdoors with her mother who was putting air into her car tire.

 

Teen who pleaded guilty to 7-Eleven robbery in Madison Heights faces sentencing

The first of two suspects in custody for the armed robbery of a Madison Heights 7-Eleven store this spring is set to be sentenced Thursday as police say they are continuing their investigation to arrest a third suspect.Isiah Dozier, 19, of Detroit is scheduled to be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. before Oakland County Circuit Judge Denise Langford Morris.

 

Trial date set for Michael Stack, former Wolverine Lake councilmean charged in fatal crash

A trial date is set for the former Wolverine Lake village councilman charged in a traffic crash that left two dead late last year.Michael Stack, 59, faces two counts of reckless driving causing death and one count of having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle during the Dec. 12 collision on I-275 in Canton.

 

Farmington historic barn preservation project hits snag

The developers who committed to saving a historic barn in downtown Farmington say they ran into trouble with a company contracted to disassemble it and now need financial and other assistance to preserve it.Denny Xie and Michael Kemsley are partners in a proposal to renovate the vacant Grand Cafe and Bakery, 32821 Grand River Ave.

 

Elizabeth Lake Road closure planned for July 20

The Road Commission for Oakland County has issued a permit allowing for the closure of Elizabeth Lake Road between Highland Road and Teggerdine Road in White Lake Township.The project, set for Friday, July 20, will connect a water main to the White Lake Township Library. The closure is expected to last 10 days with Elizabeth Lake Road opened to traffic by the end of July.

 

Waterford continues crackdown on tobacco sales to minors

The Waterford Township Police Department's use of underage decoys in its initiative to stop tobacco sales to minors resulted in one citation for a store clerk last week.Nine stores were visited last week by the teenage decoys. Of them, only The Glass House Vape and Smoke Shop, located at 3424 Highland Road, had a clerk who sold tobacco to a 15-year-old decoy without asking for age or identification, police said.

Pontiac man shot, investigation continues

An investigation continues into the shooting of a Pontiac man just before midnight Monday.The Oakland County Sheriff's Office reports that a family member found the victim, 23, lying on a couch at a home in the 100 block of Carriage Circle. He was reportedly bleeding profusely from the leg and was subsequently transported by Star EMS to McLaren-Oakland Hospital.

 

Southfield cops trying to ID suspected jewelry thief

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man believed to have stolen jewelry from a Southfield store last month.He's described as an older black male, five feet six inches to five feet ten inches tall, with short salt-and-pepper hair and wearing glasses. Last month, he was at Giorgio Conti Jewelers in the Advance Building at 23077 Greenfield Rd.
