FEAST fest comes to mission

Oceanside’s food festival and community fundraiser “FEAST” returns to the historic Old Mission San Luis Rey July 27. The fest is hosted by the mission, Osider Magazine and OnoYum’s creator Nino “Neens” Camilo, and features more than a dozen Oceanside restaurants, breweries and distilleries.

Vision for Country Club land revealed

The future of the Escondido Country Club property will not include a golf course of any size, the potential developers of the 110-acre abandoned golf course in the northwestern part of the city announced over the weekend.

 

Problem palms at Whispering Palms

Things aren’t so quiet these days in Whispering Palms. The golf course community next to Rancho Santa Fe is divided over a plan to cut down its 54 signature queen palms that have stood at the entrance for more than 50 years. Some rise 65 feet high and a few show signs of fungus infections.
