Three local politicians are among a small but growing movement of 20-somethings who are entering the political scene, hoping to make a difference. While the younger politicians may lack experience, they can bring fresh perspective and energy to the table.

Earlier this month teacher Jeff Sylvia challenged his sociology class to come up with a way to give back to people during the holidays. He was amazed at what they suggested.

“The outcome of a college education is important and it’s important for students thinking about how it prepares them for a life of professional fulfillment,” said the Rev. John Denning.

David and Kathy Oaks, the husband and wife facing a litany of child rape and sexual abuse charges, were the foster parents of the child they’re accused of abusing over an eight year period, according to a report filed by police.

“I am so excited for that 100,000th delivery, because it shows that God has led us and because it shows what is most important to him, which is serving the poor,” said My Brother’s Keeper co-founder Terry Orcutt.

Scituate voters approved a debt-exclusion tax override on Saturday that will fund the renovation of the Scituate Town Library on Branch Street.

The 1794 Isaac Davenport Mansion in Milton is decorated for the holidays and open to the public Saturday afternoon for tours. The  property is part of the 22-acre Wakefield Estate.
