Curry College supports Big Brothers Big Sisters

After three years of work, Curry College is providing transportation to and from the Holland School, allowing it’s students to mentor some of the highest need students in the state. The school, which is one of the top underperforming schools in Boston, is located in a non-T accessible part of Dorchester. The location makes it difficult for volunteers to visit students.

An informal knitting group meets at the Milton Library offering an opportunity for people to get together, bring a project to work on (either for 20 minutes or the whole group meeting) and have friends nearby to ask questions when they need help.  The meetings are in the Conference Room, lower level.  Read more for complete details and calendar.

'Hustle,' 'Gravity' lead Oscars with 10 nods each

The con-artist comedy “American Hustle and the 3-D space odyssey “Gravity” lead the Academy Awards with 10 nominations each, with the historical epic “12 Years a Slave” trailing closely with nine nominations.
