Horace Clemmons and Randy Bruce Money are seeking the Democratic Party nomination for the District 8 Senate seat that is held by Sen. Shadrack McGill. McGill is not seeking re-election.

Online registration for the Cotton Row Run goes through Wednesday. However, late registration may be made during Sunday's packet-pick up between 1 and 6 p.m. in the Von Braun Center East Exhibit Hall. There is no race day registration. Online registration is $40 for the 10k and 5k while the 1-mile fun run is $15.

While Brooks and Hill are vying for the Republican Party nomination to represent the 5th Congressional District, it's unknown if the GOP nominee will face opposition in the November general election. Mark Bray and Reggie Hill are collecting signatures to qualify to be on the ballot as an independent candidate.

Police say they spoke to the patient at Huntsville Hospital Monday afternoon. He told police he was in a fight in the 200 block of Binford Drive when he was stabbed in the back. The juvenile went to the hospital on his own following the incident. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

James Clemens High School held it's graduation ceremony Monday afternoon May 19, 2014 at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena. The school was established in 2012 as grade 9-12 school in the Madison City School System so this was the school's second graduation ceremony.

Barrow faces three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree human trafficking. Police say the case involves two juvenile females in the Huntsville area and not any Guntersville students.

Police charged Ryan Colby Stegall, 25, of Florence with 54 counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and theft. Police say this stems from the use of a credit card that was reported stolen in April.

Police say Marquis McCray, 25, and Darnell Gilbert, 24, both of Sheffield, broke into Florence Pharmacy on Veterans Drive early Monday. Police responded to an alarm at the business shortly after 4:30 a.m. A K-9 unit led officers to the suspects in a nearby wooded area. Police recovered pills they believe were stolen from the pharmacy.
