Bashara case to be part of cable TV network's 'Deadly Rich' series

The murder of Jane Bashara of Mount Clemens by her husband, Bob, will be subject of another media account Monday in a new episode of "Deadly Rich" on CNBC-TV.Bob Bashara, 60, is serving life in prison and his handyman, Joe Gentz, a former Macomb County resident, will be behind bars for 17 years for the 2012 asphyxiation and beating death of Jane Bashara, 56, in the couple's Grosse Pointe garage.

A St. Clair Shores man charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend will be evaluated for mental competency and criminal responsibility.Daniel Michalak, 33, is scheduled for a Sept. 4 hearing in front of Judge William McConico in 36th District Court in Detroit to determine whether he is mentally fit for court proceedings and was sane at the time of the alleged slaying of his girlfriend, Tia Vellucci, 27, formerly of Lake Orion.
