Boardings dip at Redmond Airport

Passenger boardings at Redmond Airport declined slightly more than 2 percent last month over June 2012, according to information recently released by the airport.Last month, 21,824 passengers flew out of Redmond Airport, a decrease of 550 from June 2012.For the first six months of this year, boardings have declined nearly 3 percent over the same period last year, according to airport figures.

A mother and daughter living in a homeless camp off Neff Road were cited in connection with a fire that charred just less than four acres Thursday east of Bend.The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office cited the girl, 14, for reckless burning, reckless endangerment of another person and second-degree criminal mischief.

Fire crews fight small wildfires

Firefighters in Central Oregon are working to extinguish several wildfires reported over the weekend, according to a news release from the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center.The Box Springs Fire, located about 15 miles southeast of Ashwood, has burned approximately 30 acres in mixed timber and brush on Oregon Department of Forestry land.
