The former chief of staff of the Beaver County Commissioners was recently hired as district director by U.S. Rep. Keith Rothfus, R-12, Sewickley.

The firm that will be doing a study of Beaver County operations and finances was formally hired Thursday.

In a move that's similar, but less substantial than one taken last year, the Beaver County Commissioners Thursday approved hiring bond counsel, an underwriter and an investment banker to refinance some of the county's long-term debt.
