Cops: Threat Prompts Newtown Standoff

NEWTOWN - A man threatening to “shoot anybody” who went to his house prompted a brief police standoff Sunday night, authorities said. When officers arrived, the victim and her child had already left the house, but police said the suspect remained defiant, causing officers to set up a perimeter around the house and negotiate with the man, who was later identified as 35-year-old Samir Raslan.
