By Dennis Seid Daily Journal TUPELO – After several months of land clearing and dirt work to build up the site, steel framework is going up at the Tupelo Crossroads development at the corner of North Gloster Street and Barnes Crossing Road. “We are glad to be under construction, and our tenants are hoping to open March 2017, ” Developer Justin Davis said. Among the tenants at the development are three restaurants – Zaxby’s, Pyro’s Fire Fresh Pizza and Which Wich. Additionally, Davis said Aspen Dental will be opening in the development, along with a fourth restaurant – Charlie Graingers, which serves up hot dogs, brisket and barbecue. According to its company website, the restaurant got its start in 1939 Charlie Grainger and his wife opened Peacock Alley in Wilmington, North Carolina, “serving up legendary home-made food.” In 2012, company founder Louis North purchased the site of the original Peacock Alley, demolished and rebuilt the restaurant, and in 2013 “started serving the same world-class hot dogs and southern cooking as the original.” Last year, North brought on partners Jason Nista and Greg George, who have extensive knowledge and experience in the restaurant and franchise business.
