Connecticut State Police Increase July 4 Patrols

“Drive the speed limit, don’t drink alcohol and drive, and immediately report a suspected drunk drivers to police by calling 911, as this is a true emergency,” state police Col. Brian Meraviglia, said in a statement Wednesday. Last year over the July 4 weekend state police issued 1,559 summonses for speeding; arrested 42 drivers for operating under the influence, and investigated 312 motor vehicle crashes, 47 that involved injuries.
