The Environmental Design Research Association's 49th annual conference, "Social Equity by Design: Designing Connections through Community," drew researchers in architecture, design, planning and related fields from across the nation and 20 other countries. When the venue for the conference was announced last year, co-chairman David Boeck said, some members, used to bigger cities and more prominent locales, wondered: Why Oklahoma City?
