A Miramar police officer accused of strangling his girlfriend during a fight almost one year ago is back at work after prosecutors dropped the charges. Orlando Marrero, 25, was officially reinstated on Sept. 5 after Miramar Police completed its internal affairs investigation, disciplining him with two weeks’ suspension without pay, according to city spokeswoman Janice McIntosh. Marrero was arrested last December on one count of domestic battery by strangulation.
