One of the most vexing and most common problems is logging into accounts in a way that's both secure and reliable. It was easy to miss Dr. Robert Gray’s quick movements, tapping the screen of his smartphone at the beginning and end of patient visits on a recent day. But Gray said those fast finger taps have changed his life. He was tapping an app that records discussions during his appointments and then uses artificial intelligence to find the relevant information, summarize it and zap it, within seconds, into each patient’s electronic medical record. The technology was meticulously documenting each visit so Gray didn’t have to. “I enjoy working so much more,” said Gray, an Endeavor Health hand surgeon.

Sheridan Fitzpatrick stopped taking the bus to work some two years ago when the waits became too long and passengers on board became too disrespectful. She recalled one instance when, with snow on the ground, she waited an hour for a bus that never arrived. So she bought a car and now drives to her job at Daley’s Restaurant in Woodlawn. “I rode the bus for years and years before that, because I had to,” she said. In the two years since Fitzpatrick stopped taking the bus, the CTA continued to struggle to provide frequent, reliable service.
