Comment on Fourth fun, 2nd helping: A reminder of July 4th events

It’s impossible to get upset about a holiday, especially one as fun as the Fourth of July, but this year’s celebration does present a unique circumstance. Instead of bookending a long weekend or landing on the weekend, this Fourth comes smack-dab in the middle of the week, on Wednesday. That’s probably created a predicament for many of you, who had to forgo using time off, or have performed paid time off acrobatics to slip a vacation in. It’s also created a dilemma here at The Columbian, since we usually like to highlight fun events in the Weekend section, which runs on Fridays.
