Troy firefighter removes hawks' nest from neighborhood where they had attacked

A Troy firefighter who is federally licensed to handle birds of prey came to the aid of a Troy neighborhood where about a dozen people had been attacked by a pair of Cooper's hawks.The firefighter, who wants to remain anonymous, contacted the appropriate federal agencies and gained approval to remove the hawks' nest from a tree on Hempstead Street, according to a statement from Chuck Riesterer, assistant chief of the Troy Fire Department.
