Lakewood village president does not have power to remove trustees, attorney says

Things could get testy Tuesday night at the Lakewood Village Board meeting. Village President Paul Serwatka does not have the power to go through with plans to remove two appointed trustees, said an Illinois attorney who contributes to the Illinois Municipal Handbook, a seminal guidebook published by the Illinois Municipal League.
