Jim Wilson had a knack for numbers and was downright persnickety about them, Mayor John Howard recalled Tuesday. “He’d be checking and double-checking everything to the nth to make sure it was right,” Howard said. “Numbers were his forte. Jim could sit down with a spreadsheet or a project and would be right at home.” Wilson, who served as finance director for both the city of Lancaster and Lancaster County, died Friday at his home in Lancaster after a three-year battle with cancer.
