We talked to Naomi Klein about her book, The Shock Doctrine, when it was first published. And it's stuck with me since. This week, I've watched large swaths of my state burn down without a mention from the man in the Oval Office, or a declaration of a federal disaster. I've watched the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico desperately tweet every high profile media type she could think of to raise awareness of how badly they still need assistance to shame the federal government into more action than giving each other manicures.
