All incumbent members of Chatham County's legislative delegation running unopposed in primary

With the exception of the race to succeed state Rep. Bob Bryant, who passed away last month, the ballots for the state senators and representatives that make up Chatham County’s legislative delegation will include only one name during the May 24 general primary. Incumbent Georgia representatives Bill Hitchens, R-Rincon; Craig Gordon, D-Savannah; Ron Stephens, R-Savannah; Mickey Stephens, D-Savannah; and Jesse Petrea, R-Savannah; and senators Ben Watson, R-Savannah, and Lester Jackson, D-Savannah, were all unopposed at the end of qualifying last week. That means they’ll run without opposition during the general primary, although they could pick up competition for the Nov.
