Center for Living offers help with guilt, resentment for Savannah caregivers

Barbara Harkins lived a robust life centered on her family, home and golf game. Even a fall from a ladder and a broken leg at age 80 only slowed her for a while. But now, at 89, she is battling dementia and, unable to remain in her home, is living in a Richmond Hill nursing home. While her daughter, Emily Reece, brags about the care her mother is receiving, she concedes she has had bouts of guilt because she could not do more for her mother. For help, she has turned to the Edel Caregiver Institute and its new home in the soon-to-open Celeste C.
