Megan Geuss With its reveal of iOS 8, Apple announced a slew of improvements to its messaging experience on iOS. Not all of them were critical features that its user base had been begging for, but they shared a common theme: broad imitation of the free data-based messaging apps that have blown up in popularity over the past few years. Features added in iOS 8 include a separate pane for managing media that had been sent to the conversation, including photos and video, and the ability to quickly send voice messages as audio or share your current location.
