On a beautiful day for baseball on the South Side, the Chicago White Sox lost to the Minnesota Twins 7-3 in 12 innings Thursday to end their season-high three-game winning streak. Lucas Giolito pitched seven strong innings. Eloy Jimenez homered and had three hits. But the Sox went 1-for-16 with runners in scoring position, and an error by Tim Anderson opened the door to a five-run 12th inning. A small but attentive crowd of 14,650 showed up to enjoy the sunshine, food and game, and a couple of thousand or so stuck around for the ending as the Sox fell to 10-22. Some of my friends who refer to themselves as White Sox fans call this season paradise.
