The 2015 Veteran's Day Parade was different from the previous 15 editions of the annual event because Diana Ceciliani wasn't there to make it happen. Ceciliani, a retired Air Force chief master sergeant credited with revitalizing the parade in 2000, died in August after a 16-month battle with lung cancer. Saturday's parade, attended by about 50,000 people in downtown Colorado Springs, was dedicated in Ceciliani's honor, and her husband Paul and two sons were grand marshals for the event.
