Colorado Springs Ties Heat Record Friday; Snow Possible This Weekend

Temperatures in Colorado Springs reached 70 degrees Friday, tying the day's record set in 1986, the National Weather Service in Pueblo reported. On average, the high is 43 degrees in mid-January, weather service data show. Temperatures are expected to plummet by the end of the weekend. The weather service predicted highs of 61 degrees Saturday and 29 degrees Sunday. Saturday's skies are expected to be mostly sunny, with a 40 percent chance of snow after 11 p.m. Sunday has a 70 percent of snow, mainly before 11 a.m., with areas of blowing snow possible after 10 a.m.
