Colorado Springs Police Cite Driver Who Shot Himself In Knee With Shotgun

A 27-year-old man who shot himself in the knee while driving Saturday night has been arrested, Colorado Springs police said Monday. Corey Campbell was taken into custody on suspicion of discharging a weapon, said Lt. Catherine Buckley, a police spokeswoman. Police reported to a shooting about 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 300 block of East Fillmore Street, where they found a man with a "severely" damaged leg. The man, later identified as Campbell, said he was being followed before he said he accidentally shot himself with a shotgun, police said. Police did not have Campbell's medical condition.
