Five seventh-grade students at Holmes Middle School were caught drinking alcohol during lunch period Thursday. School administrators are investigating to determine what happened, said Colorado Springs School District 11 spokeswoman Devra Ashby. Reportedly, a female student brought a bottle and shared it with other students at lunch. Because the matter is a student discipline issue, Ashby said she could not comment on the specifics of the incident.
