DENVER - The Colorado Springs man killed by an elderly driver in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Lakewood has been identified, officials said Wednesday. Franklin Nelson, 51, died Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle while he stood on a sidewalk at 4th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard, according to a Lakewood Police Department news release. Around 2:10 p.m., 81-year-old Charles Tatman was eastbound on 4th Avenue when he hit Nelson with his Buick LeSabre, the release said.
