Colorado Springs auto dealers are in a waiting game to replace defective airbag inflators recalled by federal regulators because inflator manufacturer Takata Corp. hasn't produced enough replacement parts. Nearly 34 million air bags in vehicles from 11 automakers are part of the largest recall in U.S. history. Eight people have been killed and 100 injured by the air bags, which can explode with too much force and send shrapnel into the vehicle. Dealers have to wait for Takata to produce replacement airbags to start the repairs, said Tim Jackson, CEO of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association in Denver. "I don't think anybody knows how long it will ultimately take," he said.
