Debbie Baker thought her 46 concert band students at Colorado Springs Christian School gave it their best shot in the one big competition they entered this year, Disneyland's Music in the Parks playoff."I was very happy with their performance," she said Monday before her first-period band class got underway. "They went to play well, and they did."She figured the band had a chance at placing in its division for small schools at the mid-April competition.The group's two pieces, "One Life Beautiful," by Julie Giroux, and "Journey," by James Curnow, impressed the judges so much that the perfect score of 10 appeared for tone quality, rhythm and technique.Read more on Colorado Springs Gazette
