A Colorado radio station polled its listeners, asking whether a popular holiday song notorious for its predatory lyrics simply must go. The answer is no. “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” lives on at Colorado’s Christmas radio station KOSI 101.1 despite originally being yanked off the air. The song, based on a duet in which a woman says she wants to leave the date she’s on and the crooning man refuses to let her go, features lyrics like the woman asking “Say, what’s in this drink?” An Ohio radio station stopped playing the song, citing that listeners felt the tone of the tune didn’t sit well with the #MeToo movement that is sweeping the globe and bringing attention to sexual assault and harassment.
