Colorado Health Insurer Challenges Insolvency Ruling

DENVER — The largest nonprofit health insurer in Colorado is fighting its forced closure by state insurance regulators. A Denver district court judge has been asked to reconsider the case of Colorado HealthOP. The insurer covers some 80,000 Coloradans but found out Friday the state Division of Insurance is closing it for 2016. Colorado HealthOP found out last month that the federal government wouldn't pay millions owed to insurance co-ops.
