PORTLAND — The first black woman to be elected to Portland’s City Council says “white male privilege” is to blame for disruptions and raucous protests during weekly council meetings.

DETROIT — A Marine veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder was held for three days for possible deportation before federal authorities learned that he was a U.S. citizen born in Michigan, lawyers said Wednesday.
Jilmar Ramos-Gomez, 27, lives in the Grand Rapids area. He was released on Dec. 17 from a detention center in Calhoun County after personal records were provided to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan.

 

Fake editions of The Washington Post handed out at multiple locations in D.C.

Fake editions of The Washington Post claiming that President Donald Trump was leaving office were handed out Wednesday morning at multiple locations in Washington, D.C.
The print papers – which at a quick glance look strikingly similar to actual copies of The Post – were filled with anti-Trump stories, which also appeared on a website that mimicked the official Post site.
