Toledo council gives solar project the go-ahead

After delaying a vote on a proposed solar array over questions about a floodplain, Toledo City Council in a 11-0 vote approved a special-use permit for the project at a special meeting Tuesday.

Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, Tuesday, including hundreds who prayed together at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo in Perrysburg. Eid al-Adha is one of two feasts in Islam, and honors the willingness of Ibrahim, or Abraham, to sacrifice his son at the command of God. Nadia Ashraf-Moghal, president of the center, estimated about 1,200 people came to the mosque to attend the prayer service and celebrate together.
