Drowning victim identified as 41-year-old Stockton man

STOCKTON — The man who was recovered Monday from the Calaveras River near University of the Pacific was identified as 41-year-old Leroy Sauceda of Stockton, the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office reported.Police classified Sauceda’s death as a drowning. His body was pulled from the river near where it flows under Pacific Avenue by a boat rescue crew from the Stockton Fire Department.
