RV dealership breaks ground on new superstore in Springfield Township

Wixom-based General RV Center hosted a groundbreaking ceremony, July 17 for a new superstore in Springfield Township. The site is along Dixie Highway near I-75. The new location will be much larger than the current White Lake store and 30 new jobs will be added when it opens, according to a press release from the company.

 

South Lyon city manager vacancy draws 43 applicants

The search for South Lyon's next city manager is almost complete. The deadline to apply for the vacant position came and went with 43 applicants expressing interest. Police Chief, and interim city manager, Lloyd Collins said city council will receive a list of the "most qualified" candidates among the group at a July 23 closed session meeting.

 

Illegal immigrant bound over for trial in hit-and-run that killed Justin Lee of Wixom

The illegal immigrant charged with the fatal hit-and run of a Wixom teen has been bound over for trial in Oakland County Circuit Court.Miguel Ibarra-Cerda, 21, waived his right to a preliminary exam July 18 in Novi's 52-1 District Court. Ibarra-Cerda, who's communicating through an interpreter during court proceedings, is charged with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death in the accident which killed Justin Lee, 14.
