Old Madison Pike: A 19-year-old male was robbed through strong arm at the Minute Man station in the 7600 block close to 8:30 a.m. Police took the suspect into custody while she was attempting to flee the area.
The next Huntsville race is the Give It Back Track 5k on Saturday, and this one is still open. The certified course will start at 8 a.m. behind Stone Middle School and go through downtown Huntsville Street, looping around Clinton Avenue and the Butler Terrace housing project before ending at the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center on Brahan Avenue. This year, the Huntsville Inner City Learning Center's students chose the Madison County Special Olympics as the beneficiary of the race.
Troopers say the vehicles crashed on Alabama 157 about four miles north of West Point just after 9 a.m. Patricia Louise Lavrich, 28, of Vinemont was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt.
Another round of thunderstorms is expected late tonight but weakening as they move into northwestern Alabama around daybreak. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, although small hail and locally heavy rainfall will also accompany these storms.
Huntsville experienced some brief but heady showers around 2 p.m., but most of the rain clouds had moved out toward the Northeast by 3:30 p.m.

The National Weather service describes the morning forecast as "a low threat of severe weather" with increased chances of severe weather by the afternoon and into the overnight hours. The storms could bring damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.
Morganne Brooke Neeley, 21, was killed when the 2008 Hummer she was driving left Interstate 59, five miles south of Fort Payne. The vehicle overturned, and Neeley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
Kyle Patrick Martin, 25, was driving his 1987 Toyota pickup on Apple Grove Grove when he struck a tree about 10 miles south of Lacey's Spring. Martin was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.
