The Tyrrell Historical Library, which sustained mold damage during Tropical Storm Harvey, likely will be closed until early next summer after newly discovered problems extended the original three-month repair timeline, a library official said. The library, on Pearl Street in downtown Beaumont, has been closed since rainwater and humidity from post-storm power outages caused mold, mildew and fungus to spread through the ceiling tiles and arched beams on the 91-year-old side of the building.
