From Sunray to Wellington, water parks have been sprouting up across the Texas Panhandle, with the prospect of another being built in Canyon. “In today’s world, people don’t want to just go to a pool,” Canyon City Manager Randy Criswell said. “They want to go to a water park.” The proposed $6-million family aquatic center in Canyon would feature a 7,590-square-foot multi-use pool, and would include water slides, a lazy river, a zero-entry area, a sprayground, a six-lane competition pool, a pavilion, a building for changing rooms, a concessions area and a 120-car parking lot. read more
