A gas main break near Southwest Seventh Avenue and South Buchanan Street prompted the evacuation of City Hall Thursday afternoon. "There was a gas line struck by one of the contractors working on the Buchanan job," Asisstant City Manager Bob Cowell said. Amarillo Fire Department has responded to the call, and Atmos Energy crews shut off the gas so the main could be repaired. read more
