Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play depicts the relationship between an elderly Jewish woman and her African-American chauffeur over 25 years of social change in post-World War II Atlanta. The warmhearted comedy/drama premiered off-Broadway in 1987, ran for almost 2,000 performances and became an Oscar-winning film. Stages artistic director Kenn McLaughlin directs, with company favorite Sally Edmundson in the title role.
