Chimney Fire Destroys House On Christmas Night

STAMFORD — A chimney fire destroyed a home Sunday night on Old N. Stamford Road, according to the Stamford Fire Department. The fire department said firefighters from both the Stamford and Belltown stations responded at about 9:45 p.m. to a single family home at 114 Old N. Stamford Road. When they arrived, firefighters found that the fire, which had reportedly started in the residence’s chimney, had spread to the home’s attic. Firefighters ventilated the attic space through the residence’s roof and the blaze was extinguished by 10:45 p.m.
