Chimera Investment Corporation (CIM) is getting a boost in today's trade, with stronger than usual volume, after the firm said late yesterday it would delay the filing of its Form 10-Q for the period ended September 30, 2011. Chimera said last week that it is conducting a review of its treatment, under generally accepted accounting principles, of other-than-temporary impairments related to its investments in securities rated less than AA, non-rated non-Agency securities and other subordinate securities.
