Chester Fire Department Receives Federal Grant

CHESTER — The Chester Fire Department has been awarded nearly $200,000 in federal funding to buy new air packs and turnout gear for its firefighters, U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced Wednesday.The Assistance to Firefighters Grant comes from the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the Department's United States Fire Administration.
