Charges Dismissed Against Former Stamford Shelter Manager

STAMFORD — A reckless endangerment charge that has dogged the city’s former animal shelter manager for three years was erased Thursday after Laurie Hollywood spent the day in a court diversionary program for first-time offenders. In a surprise development at the Stamford courthouse Wednesday, Hollywood was granted participation in the Accelerated Rehabilitation program that allows criminal charges against cardinally law-abiding citizens be expunged from their criminal records. While the probationary program can last up to two years for some individuals and any subsequent arrest could get them tossed out, Hollywood, 46, was allowed by Judge Gary White to complete it in a single day.
