Cellist Mike Block plays so many different kinds of music, and the contents of his albums are so dissimilar from each other, it’s no easy task to recommend where – if you’re not familiar with him – to start. But it’s safe to say that among the classical and bluegrass and folk and world music discs he’s already made, his newest – “The Edge of the Atmosphere” – is right up there with the best of them.
