Stories Related to Cats Rescued From Closed W.va. Mobile Home Park

The Associated Press MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Volunteers have rescued about 30 cats from a closed mobile home park in Monongalia County.The animal rescue group Homeward Bound WV began trapping the felines last week after a volunteer discovered them at the former La Mesa Village. The group says the volunteer lives near the site and was looking for her cat.Homeward Bound WV volunteer Cassie Taylor says tells media outlets that many of the cats were living in abandoned mobile homes and using litter boxes that their owners left behind.Taylor says several cats were euthanized because they tested positive for feline immunodeficiency and leukemia.
